Leadwork

Specialist Leadwork, Flashings and Valleys

Correctly sized, correctly detailed lead — the most common source of hidden leaks.

Overview

Lead is unforgiving of shortcuts. Oversized sheets, missing expansion joints and mortar-only fixings are the leading cause of the flashing failures we're called out to. Our leadwork follows Lead Sheet Association guidance on sizing, code and fixing.

Common warning signs

  • Cracks or splits along lead flashings
  • Lead lifting away from the chimney chase
  • Staining on chimney breasts internally
  • Failed cement fillets used in place of lead
  • Corrosion or thinning on old valley linings
  • Water ingress in bay window roofs
